Personal and spiritual development has been a passionate pursuit of mine for over 20-years! I credit my college roommate with opening the doorway of personal growth when he handed me the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and said, “You have to read this.”
Since then I have been committed to exploring and expanding my awareness of myself and the world around me.
Some have suggested that I might be TOO personal growth oriented. When I was studying the Human Energy Systems and Intuitive Development in the mid-1990s, I was – lovingly, I’m sure – presented with a charter membership in the Gluttons For Growth Group.
It’s no surprise that my Intuitive Counseling practice was an abysmal failure when I started it in 2000. I just assumed that everyone was like me and wanted to burn through their resistance and blocks and limiting beliefs as fast as they could… even if it meant being completely non-functional in the “real” world.
Turns out I was wrong! Another opportunity to remember what they say about ASS U ME!
It’s taken me the better part of a decade (I never claimed to be a fast learner!) to get that I don’t have to be perfect and clear and heal ALL of my old wounds and limiting beliefs. And what a relief… both for me and for my clients!
But I must say that in the process of figuring out that life can actually be enjoyed before you have attained a state of Nirvana, I learned a LOT of powerful, transformational tools that I now bring to my own life and to my coaching practice and teaching.
And maybe, just maybe, the fact that I’ve now figured out the “you don’t have to be perfect to have a whole lot of fun” thing… I can help you get there too!
Oh, and I’ll freely admit that my daughter has been, without a doubt, one of my most effective teachers. She knows how to have a great time. No matter what is happening. You’ll notice her popping up quite a bit in my blog posts. She has a way of reminding me of so many things that I’ve forgotten along the way.
I’m sure there’s more that I could tell you about me. But I figure the way you’re going to get to know me best is by reading this blog.
Thanks so much for coming by. I hope you enjoy your stay. And please leave me a comment to let me know you were here.
