Our evolutionary journey is intertwined with and cannot be separated from hers. What we see and experience happening in her is a reflection of what is happening in us!

And we are NOT at the mercy of these Earth changes: we are in a fully co-creative relationship with her!
The Earth is the “body” for our collective human consciousness. As individuals, our bodies hold and express the dominant emotions, thoughts and vibrations in our consciousness.

And what is the dominant experience in our collective consciousness right now?
That’s right… Fear!
Most of us are feeling some level of fear. Whether we are looking at Japan, or whether we are still reeling from the impact of the financial crisis, or whether we are moving through major personal issues, there is an underlying fear flowing through the fabric of our collective essence.
And that fear gets woven into the energy of the Earth.
Fear creates resistance. It blocks the flow and expansive, evolutionary flow of energy.
Have you ever turned on a hose and folded it over, blocking the flow of water, and then quickly released the kink? What happens? The water bursts out of the hose and the hose itself jerks and convulses until the pressure stabilizes.
That happens with us, as individuals, as a species and for the Earth.
While in a resistive state you may feel stagnant and lethargic, or a brooding anger or a low-level of grief. You may feel discomfort or pain in your body. Or perhaps you feel disconnected from your life and your loved ones.
However you experience the resistance, it must, eventually, release. If you do not allow it to consciously release, it will move through you in unconscious ways. There may be an emotional release: Perhaps anger or grief will suddenly burst through to the surface and express itself through you. There may be a physical release: Perhaps an illness or injury will manifest in your body.
Energy must move and circulate. That’s what it does! Just as flowing water will eventually wear through the hardest rocks, energy will eventually move through even the strongest resistance.
Unfortunately, “Letting go of resistance 101” is not a course that most people have taken! Until recentlyThere have not been many opportunities to learn how to effectively and compassionately work with and release resistance. So most people spend their lives in a state of resistance – stagnant, lethargic and dull – punctuated by bursts of often violent release.
Or, in the extreme, they hold onto their resistance right up to the moment of their death when, finally and fully, all of the resistance is released in a moment of blissful surrender to the flow of life.
Now, as we continue moving through this time of massive transformation, we are being given the opportunity – and being called to our purpose – to bring consciousness to the process of spiritual growth and evolution. We are being asked to let go of the fear that creates resistance within us and is reflected in the Earth and through the changes that she is going through.

Personal and Spiritual growth has been a passionate pursuit of mine since 1982. I credit my college roommate with opening the doorway to that path when he handed me the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and said, “You have to read this.”
